The sun is shining, the birds are singing, plants are coming back into bloom, green is returning, and we are still lurking indoors wondering if it’s safe to wear a short-sleeved shirt again. Well, enough of that. Spring is here, and now it’s time to climb out of the cave and get ready for the coming summer.
Whether that means you want to become bikini ready by December, or just need to work off the extra winter layer you’ve developed, that means some hard work. It means all of us are going to take gym more seriously, we’re going to run more, and eat better. And all of it at the same time. We’re exhausted just writing it.
But just because we’re all starting our #BestLife kick, doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice everything that’s fun, enjoyable or tasty. You can make something easy, healthy and, most importantly, tasty without wearing yourself out. You can make a smoothie.
We think Smoothies are genius. They’re all sorts of tasty things smooshed up into a milkshake. That’s right, a healthy milkshake. It shouldn’t exist, but it does. And for that, we’re thankful.
More importantly, they’re easy. The recipe we’ve got for you today – a strawberry smoothie – will take a minute from start to finish, leaving you with a delicious drink you can take with you to the gym (or whip up after you’re done).
But if strawberries aren’t your thing (maybe you’re weirded out by a fruit with the seeds on the outside) you can easily substitute them for your favourite fruit. Or even a mix of them. And nuts. Granola. Wheat grass. If you can eat it, you can make it into a smoothie. Just keep that base of our fabulous Fabulite fat-free, sugar-free yoghurt and create your own masterpiece.
What are you waiting for? Experiment and find your favourite great tasting smoothie and get your spring going the right way.
